'Street English' festival for English-language lovers
The ‘Street English’ festival took place at Da Nang’s 29 March Park in Thanh Khe District on Sunday. The event was jointly organised by the city’s Iris English Centre and some local English clubs. At the event, hundreds of domestic and foreign volunteers were involved in teaching English to local residents.
Initated by the centre in 2014, the event was part of its English project for the community which aims to appeal to domestic and foreign volunteers who have a good or very good background knowledge of English to promote the language to local residents. In addition, it provides a great opportunity for lovers of speaking English to enhance their speaking skills, and helps more local residents to integrate into a modern and more civilised communication environment to meet the requirements of the city’s tourism and services development.
