Da Nang wants to boost tourism and service cooperation with Malaysia

When receiving new Malaysian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Firdauz Bin Othman on Monday, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed that his city has devoted a lot of investment resources to service and tourism sectors which are considered local spearhead economic sectors.

The city leader took the opportunity to ask for help from the newly accredited Malaysian diplomat to call on more Malaysian businesses to visit Da Nang to seek investment and cooperation opportunities in tourism, hi-tech and semiconductor industries.

Currently, Malaysia's Tan Chong Industrial Machinery Company is operating effectively in the city. and the company is very satisfied with the city's open and transparent investment environment.

Consul General Firdauz Bin Othman assessed that Viet Nam was one of the attractive tourist destinations for Malaysian tourists. Between January and September 2023, Viet Nam welcomed a total of 333,396 Malaysian tourist arrivals.

He affirmed that Da Nang will be one of the interesting and attractive destinations for Malaysian tourists after Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi because of its green, clean and beautiful tourism environment, creating a feeling of comfort and relaxation for visitors.

The Malaysian guest stressed the need for the city to invest in restaurants and hotels satisfying Halal standards to lure more Malaysian tourists to this beautiful coastal city.

Aside from service and tourism fields, the two sides need to expand cooperation in the field of education and training of high-quality human resources for hi tech, especially semiconductor industry, he emphasised.
