Green light given for expanding APEC Park and building public coastal park
The Da Nang authorities have given the green light for the expansion of the existing APEC Park in Hai Chau District’s Binh Hien Ward, and the construction of a public coastal park associated with bathing areas in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward.
The APEC Park opened to public in November 2017 |
In detail, the soon-to-be-expanded APEC Park will be bounded by Bach Dang Street to the east, 2 September Street to the west, Binh Minh 4 Street to the south, and the existing APEC Park to the north.
Covering an area of 8,668m2, the expanded area will feature a public park, a stroll garden associated with an existing sculpture garden, a main stage, a water fountain, a stage for organising cultural events, a playground for children, greenery areas, a parking area, and underground public toilets.
The expansion of this wonderful cultural landmark aims to create even more green spaces for the city centre, and allow diplomatic events and festivals to be held here as well.
In addition, a public coastal park associated with public bathing areas will be built at the site of the revoked Hon Ngoc A Chau coastal tourism project in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward.
Covering an area of 85,000m2, the project is being bounded by the East Sea to the east, Truong Sa Street to the west, the The Song tourist site to the south, and the soon-to-be-adjusted area to the north.
Notably, 71,806m2 of the project’s total area will be earmarked for building a public park. The public park will also feature a square, a playground for children, areas for outdoor activities, cultural and sports events, lawn, green trees, a parking area, and internal roads. Meanwhile, the remaining 13,194m2 will be sandy area.
