Tourism potential in the city's northwestern part yet to be fully tapped
Thanks to its beautiful landscape and modern infrastructure, Da Nang has welcomed a large number of visitors from both home and abroad over recent years.
An overview of the northwestern side of city |
Notably, 90% of tourists to the city prefer to use tourism services in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts in the eastern side of the city than in the northwestern side.
In particular, most of visitors like staying in accommodation establishments in the 2 districts in order to easily use entertainment services, enjoy seafood, and go swimming.
In addition, the Phuoc My and Pham Van Dong public bathing areas are always crowded with beach-goers, especially those residing in Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts.
By contrast, public bathing areas from the Thanh Binh to Nam O beaches see very few swimmers.
The main reason seems to be that public bathing areas in the eastern side of the city are very clean whilst bathing areas in the northwestern side are negatively affected by the severe environmental pollution in the basin of the Phu Loc River.
In addition, tourism infrastructure in this area has yet to be fully exploited.
In a bid to solve the problem, the municipal authorities have developed plans for upgrading tourism infrastructure in this area to boost tourism activities in coastal areas along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.
In particular, apart from 4 public bathing areas which have been put into operation, namely Thanh Khe, Xuan Thuy, Nam Xuan Thieu and Hoa Hiep 5, the city authorities have given a nod to the setting up of Bac Xuan Thieu and Phu Loc swimming areas.
Four squares associated with a parking area and a park will be constructed along coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh Street. Accordingly, the squares will cover the ending sections of the Ha Khe, Nguyen Sinh Sac, Nguyen An Ninh and Nguyen Tat Thanh streets.
The green light has been given by the municipal authorities for a Japanese business to upgrade the existing Xuan Thieu Tourist Area into a 5-star holiday resort.
The focus will be on adjusting the planning for the Nam O eco-tourism project, accelerating the construction progress of the Phuong Trang Urban Area, and building high-quality accommodation establishments.
Special attention will be paid to opening more piers for tourist boats on the Cu De River in order to promote the development of tourism activities on river and in new urban areas nearby such as Golden Hills, Nam O-Thuy Tu, and Van Village.
