Planting memorial trees to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan
The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations and the Viet Nam - Japan Friendship Association of the city collaborated with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Da Nang (JCCID) and the Lien Chieu District People's Committee on Saturday to hold a ceremony to plant memorial trees at the District Administrative Center. The event aimed to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan (1973 - 2023).

In her remarks at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Municipal Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen said that as part of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan, the Union woked with relevant local agencies to organize many people-to-people exchange programs with many exciting, practical activities that have a profound and widespread influence on local people.
The tree planting event holds significant meaning in Da Nang as it helps deepen friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Japan. Moreover, it also helps create more urban green spaces and make the Lien Chieu District Administrative Center more beautiful, contributing to developing Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city.

Deputy Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, Shimonishi Kiyoshi, shared, "Through this tree planting event, I hope that the star apple trees will grow as robustly as the friendship between Japan and Viet Nam. These trees will serve as a symbol of friendship and cooperation between between Japan and Da Nang, and the two countries as a whole."

To mark this occasion, JCCID donated 10 star apple trees to Lien Chieu District to plant them at the District Administrative Center campus.
