Paris: The provisional cycle paths will be “perpetuated” according to Hidalgo

The cycle paths temporarily dedicated to bicycles during confinement will be “perpetuated” in Paris, Mayor Anne Hidalgo said on Wednesday.
The town hall had in this context transformed into cycle paths 50 km of axes usually reserved for cars.
“They will be perpetuated, we are working on them, first of all because they have shown that there are really a lot of users, that the bicycle has really become a means of home-work transport in Paris, and that in addition it helps to reduce pollution ”, indicated Mrs. Hidalgo on Europe 1.
The rue de Rivoli, one of the main axes of the capital, will remain open to bicycles and will have “a line reserved for taxis, buses and a certain number of authorized vehicles”, she said.
